Our tips for the best result

  • For a neat and polished look, we recommend placing paper tape along all four edges of the painting before you start. This will prevent the paint from going beyond the painting surface and will leave you with clean borders once the tape is removed. If you already know you’ll frame your artwork in a standard 30 × 40 cm IKEA frame, this step isn’t strictly necessary, as the edges won’t be visible anyway.
  • Use water sparingly. The paints included in the kit are ready to use and work best when properly mixed. If a color feels too thick, you can add just one drop of water directly into the paint container and mix it well before applying it to the paper.
  • Always rinse your brush thoroughly before switching to a new color. This helps keep the shades clean and true to the original design, without unwanted color mixing.
  • For brighter and more intense colors, feel free to apply several thin layers of paint. Just make sure the first layer is completely dry before adding the next one for the best finish.
